Michigan Opportunity Zone project the Chroma
Description

Slated to be ready for occupancy in November of 2019, the Chroma building is being transformed as a center for creative tenants within the historic Milwaukee Junction Neighborhood in Detroit. The previously vacant nine-story 75,000 square foot building was built in 1913 as a cold-storage facility. Its new life will include an incubator for food entrepreneurs, co-working space, office space and event space. The $16 million dollar project is being completed by The Platform, LLC with the help of PNC Bank’s Opportunity Zone funding program. The blighted building was used as an art project. Its southwest exterior wall features a 125-foot rainbow mural by Katie Craig that will be kept intact.
